Studio Equipment Orientation

Service Description

This required orientation session certifies new users for independent operation of standard studio sewing machines during Creative Access sessions. The purpose of this session is to ensure safe equipment handling, proper workflow, and adherence to studio standards. This is not a sewing lesson or instructional class. It is a safety and operations certification. ⸻ What This Session Covers: • Proper setup and operation of standard sewing machines • Basic troubleshooting expectations • Studio workflow and shared-space etiquette • Clean-down and reset procedures • Safety standards and machine care Participants who complete this session will be approved for independent use of basic studio sewing machines only. ⸻ Important Access Clarification: This orientation does not include approval for: • Industrial specialty machines • Pattern digitizers • 60” plotter • Advanced technical equipment Those tools require separate approval and/or membership-level access. ⸻ Duration & Capacity: 45–60 minutes Limited participants per session to maintain quality and oversight ⸻ Investment: $60 (One-time requirement for first-time Creative Access users)
